How ChatFile handles data.

Overview

ChatFile is a browser extension that helps you connect web-based AI chat pages with local project files. This policy explains what data may be stored or processed when you use the extension and this website.

Account data

If you use account-based features, ChatFile stores account email, Supabase user ID, and Pro status in Supabase. Pro availability and account features are determined by the current plan shown inside the extension.

Local project data

Local project file paths, file indexes, extension settings, and local context data are primarily stored in your browser. Local file contents are processed when you authorize project access, reference files, or ask ChatFile to prepare context from local files.

Web AI pages and remote providers

When you send file context into a web AI page, that content may be processed by the target AI website. When you configure remote API providers or remote embedding providers, selected text or file snippets may be sent to those services to complete the workflow you requested.

Website hosting and analytics

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not add tracking cookies or analytics scripts on this website by default.

Data sale and deletion

ChatFile does not sell user data. You can request account or data deletion by emailing fireseedlab@gmail.com.
